It was an easy process to purchase. It is a kit so you have to do some work to put it together. Mine is together. That being said I haven't used it yet so I can't say 100% how well it'll work, but I have very high hopes.

Great idea and execution in design for staking your Explorer masts in the ground. Nice that you can hide the spike in the PVC pipe when not in use. I don’t like paying for shipping is the only reason I rated that lower.

Worth the wait! I can't wait to deploy this at my next POTA activation with my POTA33. I may try to add some large heat shrink to try to take up some of the slack between the larger 33 mast vs the 20 it is designed for. Good heavy duty steel spike should do great! Thanks again for a great product!

Sean is the best. He is quick to respond and goes above and beyond to make his customer happy. The only reason for the low score on shipping is because USPS misdirected the package and it took longer to get here and they lost the package I was returning.
I have amended my rating regarding shipping as it was no fault of Sean, who ships in a very timely manner. It was about my frustration with USPS.
Item exactly as described and does exactly what it promises. I used mine with my POTA33 and it held a 40m EFHW sloper up with no problem.
This product matches the description. The end caps of this product are 3-D printed and look very nice. The threaded insert in the end cap looks like brass, and looks like it will hold up very well. I like that the spike and end cap are (available) threaded in 3/8 24. I have found individual spikes threaded in M10, but my equipment is 3/8 24 and the matching threaded spikes are very hard to find, at least so far for me.
The only thing I would change on this product is to put some threads on both ends of the PVC pipe and add threading to match on the printed end caps. If easier and more economical, the inside diameter of the end caps could be just enough smaller that they would be held on by friction, but still be easy enough to twist off, unlike actual PVC end caps.
As advertised. Well worth the price.
This spike kit is really nice. I like that I can tweak the length of the spike caps so that it's just right for my mast. The retained spike is a great idea, and the quality of the spike itself is great. Much heavier duty than expected and will make using a mast a lot more convenient than trying to lean it into a tree or bush, or trying to guy it.
