About this video
Nobody built this… so I did.
In this video, I take the classic Rybakov-style 4:1 antenna and reimagine it into something totally portable, reely cool design that uses parts from a Spooltenna, a T200-2 toroid, and BNTECHGO wire.
The goal was simple: create a compact HF antenna that’s quick to deploy, easy to tune, and ready for field operations like POTA, SOTA, or QRP portable radio on as many bands as possible.
This is a project blending performance, portability, and creativity to make something that should have existed all along. Please note, I do my best to give proper credit where deserved.

⚡ Why This Matters
Looking for ideas for your next portable HF antenna, QRP radio setup, or ham radio field experiment?
This reel-based Rybakov antenna design is compact, durable, and built for real-world portable ops. It’s ideal for operators who want to experiment, innovate, and make contacts from anywhere.
If you’ve ever thought, “This should exist,” well… now it does.... and now I use the name RYBADUDE, because, as I have been told - Nothing good in radio has the name DUDE on it.
Have a great one and keep learning.
