So far so great! I think he had the Lil Dude in the mail before I blinked after ordering. It's been on a couple of SOTA activations already. Very lightweight, easy to deploy, and super sturdy top sections. If you're on the fence about this one just do it. -W0RTA
This product matches the description. The end caps of this product are 3-D printed and look very nice. The threaded insert in the end cap looks like brass, and looks like it will hold up very well. I like that the spike and end cap are (available) threaded in 3/8 24. I have found individual spikes threaded in M10, but my equipment is 3/8 24 and the matching threaded spikes are very hard to find, at least so far for me.
The only thing I would change on this product is to put some threads on both ends of the PVC pipe and add threading to match on the printed end caps. If easier and more economical, the inside diameter of the end caps could be just enough smaller that they would be held on by friction, but still be easy enough to twist off, unlike actual PVC end caps.

It is just too darn fragile fire geezer use. You warned me so it is my fault . I’m old and wasn’t paying attention to the bend at the top of the mast. The top 3 or 4 segments shattered into pieces. Sigh….

This spike kit is really nice. I like that I can tweak the length of the spike caps so that it's just right for my mast. The retained spike is a great idea, and the quality of the spike itself is great. Much heavier duty than expected and will make using a mast a lot more convenient than trying to lean it into a tree or bush, or trying to guy it.
This wire winder not only looks the part, but has a more rigid and high quality feel than the ones that I've bought elsewhere. I'll be ordering a few more.
This Lil Dude 6 mast is GREAT. I own two sotabeams masts and the POTA 20 and this mast beats them all. It packs smaller, has great quality, a much more versatile topper, is more rigid in the top section and is cheaper than the rest of them as well. I should have ordered this sooner.
